Scam Artist Arrested as Fugitive

On August 19, 2009, West Linn Police arrested Phillip Robert Verdoorn, DOB 020265, of Tigard, on an outstanding California Fugitive Warrant for Larceny.

Verdoorn was the subject of a lengthy investigation by West Linn Police Detective Nick Amendolara earlier this year for Aggravated Theft I. During the course of that investigation, it was learned that Mr. Verdoorn had several un-extraditable warrants out of Los Angeles. Those warrants stemmed from activities similar to those investigated in Oregon.

Verdoorn has also been charged in Washington state for similar offenses. Detective Amendolara worked with LA County Sheriff's detectives to encourage LA County DA's Office to seek extradition to hold Mr. Verdoorn accountable for his crimes committed in California prior to moving to Oregon.

Mr. Verdoorn is currently being held at the Clackamas County Jail pending extradition to California.
