What's Going Around in Clackamas County?

Every week KATU does the work to find out what's making people sick in your area.

Doctors say they are seeing fewer cases of the H1N1 virus and there is still no sign of the seasonal flu.

However they are seeing more upper respiratory infections.

I find this an interesting post, since the CDC gave instructions in July of this year that testing for H1N1 was to be done only if a person died of flu symptoms.  In California this year, when a huge batch of tests were done to confirm diagnoses of H1N1, 90-something percent were seasonal flu.  CDC numbers also indicate that the seasonal flu has already peaked once this season, which usually happens after the turn of the year.

It's strange, how much disinformation is floating around.  The CDC website has a whole lot of good information on what's actually happening, as do the numbers from other countries who have been testing for H1N1.
